Post 924S Muffler dimensions

Looking to replace my muffler soon, i just need some help with fitting a replacement. I plan on going with a Borla Turbo series, just im not exactly sure what will be the best fit. Muffler specs are here.

I just needed to know, the inlet/outlet on a 1987 924S is 2.5 inches right? What muffler dimensions will provide the best fit? Also will the OEM exhaust tip fit onto this Borla muffler or will i need to get a new tip. If i have to get a new tip...which of these tips most clostly matches OEM?

thanks for any help you can give me.

Single oval rolled angle cut is the most stock-looking of them all...

The muffler inlet and outlet are not 2 1/2 on a 924S, they are 2 1/4.

An just so you know for future reference, the inlet on the cat is smaller than the outlet. If I recall it is 2 1/8 in and 2 1/4 out.

Maybe someone with the PET installed could cross reference that. I currently don't have it installed since my 15" LCD panel doesn't go past 1024x768.

I know the 924S and 944 share a lot of parts. I am not sure which iteration of the 44 it shares exhaust parts with though.

I have an 1988 924S and found the only replacement that fits is the same one for the 944S and S2, so check out the flange by the cat.

A garage I used originally told me that I could put in a cheaper 944 oem, or a Bursch. They were wrong! They found out by removing the old one and trying to put in the new one. I purchased a new one from the dealer and put it myself. Their price plus $90/hr plus cheaper muffler vs. PCA discount on purchase and no labor charge. I came out even. The muffer sells for about $400.

Well I know the size of the flange changed at some point, but it remained a 3 hole flange.

I thought the flange on the S2 was 4 hole like the turbo, is this not the case?
