Here's the other picture guys. IMHO, this color is awesome. Let's paint mine.............again!
A/C is blowing pretty well and it starts everytime. What more could I ask. Haven't got the accumulator yet as the wifey has put the clamps on since I blitzed the Altima. I haven't told her, yet, that I'm looking for a A/C controller.
Eon, that color screams for some edgy wheels.

Thank you for the nice words - that is my car you have shown (no problem there - use the image freely). The picture was taken on a partly cloudy day. I snapped this one just as some clouds came overhead. In bright sunlight at the right angle, the car can take on an almost metallic red-copper color. To get any depth, the car must be polished. I use P21S polish/cleanser and follow with their wax.
Coral Red is not a "candy color" In fact, it is a very modern color that doesn't shout look at me. I get the same question even from Porsche owners: "Is that the original color?"
If anyone wants pictures or closeups in different light or different angles I would be happy to do so.

JBH, beautiful car. I know what you mean by shifting colors. My car, Arena Red and painted by 951and944S, shifts from almost a black cherry to a nail polish red. It's hard to keep clean but that's half the fun. I'll use your advice with the PS21.

Three Wheelin'
I absolutely hate the color on the 928 in thread, and I absolutely love the color on the 911. It's a light trick, but just to be sure.
I really like the darker reds on these cars. I'd go lighter than Arena and darker than Guards...If you're already dead set on repainting, IMHO, you might as well change up the game a little bit. I would love to see a 944 this color.
I'd think long and hard about fiberwerks/rockers/shaved bumpers...I've never been a fan of anything more than a rear valence on these cars, and the fiberwerks nose is kinda wearing off on me as well. Just a thought.

Arena Red - another favorite color of mine. What is your interior color?
I am sure I will get negative comments, but after seeing these different reds (coral, arena, garnet, velvet, ruby stone, etc.) it will be hard for me to ever consider a Guards Red Porsche again.

944Play, if anything, I'd say brighter is a better word but really it's altogether different than the colors you're asking to compare it to.
Scott, would you say the wheels on JBH's car are 'edgy' enough....
No hurry on replacing the controller....take your time....
JBH, thanks for the use of *that* photo, it shows the vast shifting effect that light and viewing angle can have on colors like this and Arena. As mentioned before in the 968 forum, I mixed up some last night. 1/2 pint has about .75 of a gram of red pearl powder in the mix. Doesn't sound like much but the powder is really light, so about a half a teaspoon is a fair amount considering the volume size of 1/2 pint.
On GR, Sorry to say, I own a freshly done GR 951, it has it's place, but I agree that during a little photo session we had at my shop, Scott's Arena car made the two Guards cars look pretty ordinary....
Slinky, Funny, it sounds like I'm making this color out to be a 'holy grail' of paints, but thing is, it does have an orange look too, somewhat tangeringe, again, depending on light and angle....
Tremelune, I have no experience with the Fiberwerks parts. Originally we contacted a UK company about a 968 conversion package. Through contacts I have in the UK, a friend contacted the Porsche Club of Great Britain who reported a shady relashionship between several members of the club who had ordered parts and felt that they were 'shorted' some parts. That plus the fact that you have to, quote "cut away a fair amount of metal" from the rear left me uneasy about the 'upgrade'...

I love some of the orangy colors that have come out recently, mostly because they're different, vibrant and rich somehow. Dark red is a tired color, IMHO.
But regardless, I think any color Porsche car can be beautiful as long as it's clean and well-maintained.

ringo, yeah I said no more clearcoat for a while too but eeer you know....
You really have to admit, like I said earlier, or was that on another thread.. that last Saturday, at least IMO, the 'old gaurd' (pun intended) is looking a bit tired alongside of the Arena machine....
BTW- nice new mod there I see added to your list, right before the LED keylight.....

Slinky, yeah must be your monitor...
The car was/is originally maraschino red, a pretty rare color in it's own right, but I get tired of telling people that it's not brown...
