Question What's this hanging off a wire at the back of the engine?

When changing my heater valve, I noticed something that was hanging off a wire at the back of the engine bay. It wasn't connected to anything, but just dangled there. Is this some sort of sensor? I'll go check again today as I forgot to investigate further last time...

If it is what I think it is the part you are refering to is used to hook up to a computer at a shop so they can analyize your engine.
