Replacing standard instrument cluster
Has anyone ever replaced the standard instrument cluster on their late 944? I'm getting fed up with the poor lighting (yes, i know you can put in LED's) and the outdated look of them.
The question i suppose really is about the input signals, and what suppliers have to replace them with?

I just replaced my cluster with another used one since my odo gear was shot. I also used the 9Xauto.com kit to brighten the lights. Really worked well and not my gauges are bright and clear. Worth the $15 or whatever it was to buy.

Sorry, I didn't mean replacing it with another Porsche one, I meant replacing the dials with something like Autometer or SPA dials!! It's a bit different!

You would need to make a panel, add the gauges of your choice, then wire it up. Many track cars have done this. Alan C removed all his stuff, so perhaps he can post a pic or 3.
I too would like to find a way to get a 996 gauge set in my 951. That would be sweet!
