Post Anything to gain from stand-alone EFI on a 968?

E36 M3 at the autocross had one along with a cat-back and he's picked up 50 crank horsepower [~240 RWHP]. I'm blown away by how easily the M3 picked up ponies with only 1/5L greater engine displacement and similar VANOS timing to the Variocam on the 968.

50hp! wow.

I find that hard to beleive. I dont think turbo cars would make half that if they didn't turn up the boost afterwards <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Whoops, I retract that last statement, I got double VANOS mixed up with the simple VANOS in the E36 M3. Which functions similarly to the 968 with a 12.5-degree retarted intake cam at idle which is undone in the mid-range and at 5000-rpm, the intake-cam is retarted 12.5-degrees again.

I'm sure there's other mods that he didn't tell you about..

I'll assume it does more...does it vary lift/duration or what else does it do?
