Default Rennbay Sway Bar Braces

Anyone have pictures of the Rennbay sway bar braces installed?
Maybe it will be obvious when I get ready to reinstall my sway bar.
A pic would be nice....Travis?

Don't have a pic on this computer but its easy.

The big slotted hole goes under the front cross member bolt / washer. The single small hole goes under the top bolt on the sway bar "lolly pop" bracket.

Do these things really help THAT much? $40 for a couple pieces of metal seems a bit strange.

The flex in the brackets drops your effective sway bar rate. Also.. when they flex too much they snap off and you drag your sway bar on the asphault for a while until you figure out what happened.

Our brackets just triangulate the sway bar bracket so it does not flex. You could make a set yourself. Just get a piece of 1/8" steel plate and go to town. Make sure you zinc plate them or make them out of stainless so they will not rust.

I don't see that as a part capable of earning bitch-status. I could make those brackets in about 20 min. w/ 1/4" stainless of course for extra mega-man strength. May be cheaper to buy these done, though. Stainless is a bit expensive these days.

One of the sway bar mounts on my '84 sheared off from the frame rail. It took part of the frame rail away with it. I don't know if having one of these braces would have stopped that from happening... whatever caused it must have been severe.... but it definitely would not have hurt. After I weld it back together I want to try these out.

I bought a set of those by KLA from Paragon. I couldn't get the damn things to fit, so I put them in the toolbox....maybe one day.

That's why Travis put the slots in there - so they could install easily.

They are a little tricky. I left the bolt into the cross member loose and separated my M030 bar from the rubber end mounts at the A-arm to get it to work. It was hard to get the ends back in so I used a small jack to drive up the A-arm to get the angle close so I could thread the jam nut. It took a couple of tries to get a technique but second one was easier.

Yeah I mean someone skilled can do it. I cant find my *** with two hands so trying to make this would prove to be a huge challenge!

When you have a set that goes under both bolts on that sway bar "lolly pop" bracket and not just the top one it is a real PITA. I tried to install a set like that ... then made my own after I got frustrated. I use just the top bolt and I made the bracket out of thicker material to compensate. Seems to work well and the install is MUCH easier.
