I just replaced my PS turnbuckle two weeks ago. The part was $32 from my friendly neighborhood Porsche parts counter, after the 15% PCA discount at the register. Oddly enough I just replaced my AC/Alternator turnbuckle just a few months ago. They both broke in the same place as the one you snapped a photo of.

I always loosen the nuts holding both ends before adjusting tension. In my case, the break was caused by the fact that the REAR bolts that hold the "back" of the AC compressor and "back" of the PS pump had come out. The turnbuckle was the only thing holding the bottom of the pump/compressor parallel to the top retaining bolt.

Check to make sure your retaining bolts are all in-place, and remember to loosen up the turnbuckle nuts holding it to the pump/frame before adjusting tension!
