Now is probably the easiest time you'll ever have to replace your main electrical cables that run down to the starter and alternator. I know mine needed it on both the race car and the turbo. Turbo gets a full iceshark kit while the racer got IceShark negtives plus a homemade postive set (battery cutoff switch).
Oh if only I had the money for the kit!

I made my own for the race car... might not be as awesome as the iceshark ones but they were way cheaper. NAPA stocks bulk cable and all the terminal ends you need. I think my starter cable cost me about 12 bucks total for 1g cable and terminals.

Having everything off, I've been inspecting my lines and they're all in pretty good shape. Right now it's not on my top priorities list, but when I get home and pull the engine (I'll be changing rod bearings, mains, RMS, clutch, rings, etc...) I'll definately be upgrading the harness.

When i did my headgasket i was planning on installing the complete IceShark wiring on my car. I got up to the part where i needed to do the starter / alternator cable. I looked at what had to be done....laughed and started putting the car back together. Ill have to save that one for turbo removal also... .

Yeah, I can definately see how it's much easier to take care of these things with the turbo out!
