944S - Good Track Car?
#16
I have owned 7 911's everything from a 73S,SC's,to a 90'C-4,and now a 944S2, and bone stock the S2 kicked all the 911's asses at the track. And now that it's been modified with suspension its more a beast!.The S2(with little suspension work) averaged 2 seconds faster than the C-4(with more suspension work) at any track.I log every event.BTW the 944S was a dog at the track. They have a bad hole in the torque curve.

No they don't, the torque peaks at around 4000 rpm and drops a bit after 6000. For some reason the gearbox has such ratios, that when you upshift at around 6000 rpm, you get to around 4000 rpm...
If you meant short-shifting then you're right, anything below 3000 rpm and the S just won't move.
