Default DAMN Throttle cable!!

I was driving home yesterday and the throttle got stuck in the full on position. I shut the car down and waited a few minutes and was able to get her home. I noticed the cable that controls the throttle is very slack. it is working a bit but is very slow and stays at 2k rpm when idling. I just put the car for sale two days ago and now this. Is there a way to tighten it?

its not the tension...its the age. as i got older the cable stiffened into the curve of the throttle cam and when you come on the throttle hrd and let off quick the cable pops above the cam rims.

not sure where the cam would be. I have seen them on older cars but I couln't see a cam on mine. So I snapped a pic. there is a lot of slack for it to be age as it just started yesterday and the amount of slack is too much for it to have happened over time.

the cable should be adjustable and you're missing the part the cable feeds into the throttle cam.

make sure the throtlle stop setting is correct before you take up too much slack.

This is where year and model come into play. Looks like you have a S2 or a 968. Neither of those models use the throttle cam. Lube up your heim joints to make sure they are moving freely, and check your butterfly for proper movement.
You do have an adjustment for the cable on top of the intake, it is where the black cover on the cable is held down.
Take a look and let us know what you find!
