Default 84 944 chassis w/ a complete 1980 porsche 924 turbo car.

It's a 1980 Porsche 924 Turbo. 2 owner car, with me being the 2nd owner (Technically the 3rd, but the car went from father to son so I would consider that 1 owner)

It currently has a fuel pressure problem due to clogged lines. The fuel tank is rusty on the inside. The PO let it sit in the garage for 4 years with a full tank of fuel, hence the rusty tank and clogged lines.

No rust on the body, frame or else where.

New parts:

E3 Platinum plugs
Wires
Cap
Rotor
Ignition coil
All new vacuum lines
Optima Red Top
Fuel filter
Intank fuel pump
External 6.5bar Pierburg fuel pump
Mobil One full synthetic
Oil filter

Mods:

Autometer a/f guage
Autometer boost guage

Here are some pictures from when i bought it before the mods were done.

Honestly it will need a new fuel tank prolly, or someone to pull this one and clean it alot. Also it will need all the fuel lines blown out with air.

For the more adventurous, I also have a 1984 944 rolling chassis, It's black w/84k miles on the chassis. Would make an excellent start on a carerra gt style mod. Use the 944 chassis and suspension w/ the 924 turbo engine and interior. Cheaper than buying the fiberglass pieces, and having them attached and painted.

I'd sell both for $2400, or just the 924 turbo for $1700 and the 944 chassis for $850

944 chassis:

It's just dusty. There is not one spot of rust and the entire body is straight. The only bad thing about the interior was the ripped seats and the shift **** area. Its mostly gutted right now as i was cleaning the inside and working on the electrical.

If i do decide to part it i'd prolly say $300 for the hood and no idea on the header panel.

That car is pretty damn clean for a 931 for that price. Most of them are pretty beat up. The 944 shell on the other hand...

If it ran I'd be all over it...gas it too expensive to come pick it up with a trailor.

You might try posting on 924board.org too.

What's wrong with the 944? Looks like the head is off in the pic.

i didnt take into consideration the asking price, and im sure these are hard to come by these days.
however, and no offense to the seller, it doesnt seem like it was very well maintained.

As it sits in those pics is how i bought. I was in the process of restoring it, when i had an 85 944 for $700 and an 84 944 for $750 drop into my lap. This went on the back burner. I've got my eye on another project so i'm pretty much done with this car. The new parts alone or worth a good chunk of the asking price. The in tank pump and the pierburg pump were $400 just by themselves.

The 944, had the head gasket start to leak, The PO got stuck in the middle of changing it (hence the head off). It's an 84 w/ 88k original miles.

Hell make me offers, At this point I just need to get 2k between the 2 cars.

That is one of the nicest 931's I have ever seen. I would say fix that thing up man, get it running and sell it for alot more. I would pull the tank, and if it is not in terrible shape, have it refurbished. I helped a friend redo the tank on his 84' RX-7. We sent it off to a company that went over it all for cracks or holes, and welded them. Then they coated the inside with a special compound and coated the exterior to block rust. It only cost him about 200$, as apposed to buying a new tank. Fuel lines arn't horrible to replace either, finding the parts for the 931 may be a different story..
