Default AC Problem

I put a new carpet kit in my car and had the dash out to fix up some of the cracks. Anyhow, the AC never worked before the interior job and only worked for a split second after the interior job. It blew cold air for a second and sounded like a flap shut and havent felt any cold air sense.

The car also seems to be blowing heat all the time.

Looked at clarks garage but it doesnt give 944 specific info. I Just dont know where to start with this.

Thanks in advance for everyones help!

very easy. crawl under the steering wheel (on your back) and look up and to the left a bit, and just under the dash, you'll see a little white plastic V shaped clip, and the rod that it holds.

This door controls the temp of the air.

www.clarks-garage.com has an excellent write-up with pics, shows "the clip". Look in garage manual, heater malfunctions. That clip actually controls air flow thru the heater core. Assuming u have the cabin temp set on its coolest position there should be no engine coolant flowing thru the heater core unless u have a malfunction. You should also read the section HVAC.

I'm having a few problems with my HVAC system. Blown fuses, constant heat, no doors moving.....

I fixed the constant heat (clip)...I'm tracking down the blown AC fuse, and the doors. Its kind of a confusing system when there's multipul things wrong, but I'll keep track of all my findings. Maybe I can help someone else out.

Tell us more about how you plan to fix your dash! I could use some suggestions.
