I love Miami Vice!!! However I don't even think Crocket or Tubbs would let that thing on their show. Some of the 80's Benz'es on Vice stil look pretty sweet to me...

Crocket and Tubbs def had better taste, come on a daytona spider, sure the rumor says that they only used a real one in 1 episode, but still that is one of the most beautiful cars ever to roll from the ferrari factory, although I prefer the comp coupe of the nart spyder....

It was the eighties, a lot of the tuners back then were putting out some scary stuff. Koenig was doing some strange things to Ferraris, Mercs, Jags, & Porsches; '80s AMG Merc aero kits weren't pretty(IMO), and then there was Gemballa. I'm old enough to remember when this car was 'cool.'
Incidentally there were other Gemballas that were sent to Ruf for complete engines. I don't know that Ewe Gemballa had some kind of 'partnership' with Ruf though.
Yeah Ian, that Daytona on MV was a McBurnie conversion of a Corvette. Apparently it spurred a copyright infringment lawsuit by Ferrari against several U.S. kit car manufacturers.

I'm old enough to remember this also. As I recall Ferrari made Miami Vice junk the kit car and "gave" them the real thing. It must have been way more than one show that the "Real Deal" was used as the series ran for a long time.

the black beauty in Miami Vice was definitely real deal in many episodes. They naturally had many "copies" of it, which they used in car chases and so on.
And this Porsche, I think it is tacky, but the interior is kinda cool <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

I like the LED tach design. I think it's a good idea, much easier to read than the regular gauge when you're trying to watch cones.
You could even set up yellow to be low RPMs, green the optimal torque range, orange between the optimal range and the redline, and red...hmm...what could you have it represent?
