Question Pittsburgh Area Mechanic

A friend of mine has just moved himself and a gorgeous 95 968 to the Pittsburgh area. Thing is he (and I for that matter) needs to find a local mechanic as he is overdue for a t-belt replacement. Anybody have a local wrench that you would recommend?

Thanks

Shawn

I only lived there for a year when I first bought my 944, and I used Sewickley Porsche. They did quality work when I went to them, granted it was 10 years ago. Sorry, but i don't know of a non-dealer wrench.

Sewlickley will be charging you delaer rates, which suck!

I gotta guy, his name is Dave Handza, REALLY knows his watercooled stuff. He even used to race a turbo cup car till his eyes got rough.

He'd done all my work, great private wrench, knows performance goodies and all, he's just a little rough around the edges.

Located in North Braddock (garage in the middle of some houses, you would never think it was there) usually open 8-4 or so, 412-351-0725.

Lemme know how it turns out!

Shawn,
For your 928, I would recomend Raysich in Bridgeville--don't have his number, but he is supposedly the local 928 guru. I use Manage My Car in Castle Shannon 412-563-0700--ask for the owner, Chris. Their head wrench is a factory-trained mechanic who used to work at Sewickly and they are very active in local PCA events.
