Late model cylinder housing removal help.
I bought a new steering column with lock assembly but the seller did not send me a key so this is the reason for my problems.
I need to remove the key lock cylinder from the casting in the steering column.
I found this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...linder+removal when I was looking for instructions on how to release the key lock cylinder from the casting. I played with it most of the night and see NO way of taking it out.
I ended up accepting the fact that I need to order a new cylinder w/ key so I proceeded to take a screwdriver and destroy the innards so I could turn the column shaft. As of now, the key cylinder is gutted and destroyed but STILL does not come out! How do you remove it? Seems when I do a search it's all for early cars (even clark's garage)!
I'm also a bit worried that the casting is ruined. I let my dad have a go at it and he pryed away the aluminum "door" looking thing from the side which shows off the linkage for the steering lock. ...great.
Any help? Any instruction?
Thanks.

You have to drill a small hole in the casing and then push a nail or something small against the lock cylinder to get it out.
This is how it's done on the 85.5 and I think the dimensions of where to drill are the same.

Yeah I drilled a little hole (in the right spot), I used another lock cylinder to compare and figure out where to drill, but that pic is a nice resource.
