I love it! I am a fan of yellow Porsches also (and rarely see yellow 944s). Please post some more photos when you get a chance. Beautiful work.

G'day Joe,
[quote] I must point out that you have driven a 951 working properly a couple of times before, however

You are right of course and it was good motivation to keep going on the rebuild too. Hmmmm looks like I should have placed the emphasis on modified 951 when I made that comment
Perry - I have been keeping a good eye on Rennlist for all the great info as usual, - who could stay away from such a great resource.
Thanks again for the feedback, I shall be taking the 951 out into the Texas hill country on this lovely dry & sunny winter day for some real driving. It should be a blast and I shall probably get a few pics along the way.

Well today was a fantsastic 250mi hoot through the Texas back roads. The 944 went really well and gave me an opportunity to test the suspension out on some of the hilly curves. The car now has about 500mi on the engine and it feels very solid. I could listen to the sound of that turbo spooling up all day long.
Here are 4 more pics as promised:

The paint is by Sikkens with yellow primer and clear over top.

Very nice job. I like the 944 emblem in front. A couple of questions though.
1) Your rear window looks like it has a wider black stripe at the top than mine. Is this true and if so why? A new window or?
2) Your alarm key hole is silver. Is it aftermarket or original?

I had the tint shop put on a teflon brow on the top of the hatch because it looks a bit untidy and I want to drive the car a bit before I do a full repair of the rear hatch frame/glass. I am still awaiting the alarm key cover from the dealer, thats why it is silver at the moment.
Also I took the wiper off a few days ago when I cleaned up the rear hatch in preparation for the tinting. - there was a lot of copper oxide built up on the defroster elements, thats probably why so many 944s that I have seen have bubbles along the defroster lines. Very fine steel wool cleaned that up nicely - I wish I had found that method a little sooner.
[quote] You should look into some 968 body mods, it would be perfect then

Hmmm... I have some 968 style mirrors already painted so they will be put on after I have attended to the more important stuff
[quote] excellent repair job, engine bay looks like factory showroom condition

Well after AMCPILOT (Joe) sets a standard for what these things should look like .. a bloke just has to try and keep up.
Personally I am glad to have brought one 944 back from the edge of ruin.

I dunno who the lady is...but isn't she CUTE?
Someone posted the mpeg of her shooting a gun a long time ago, and that's no water pistol. There are shells being kicked from the gun in that shot!
