Ok, I don't understand that at all....

I used to drive a honda civic. I was so embarassed. I used to park in the back of parking lots, just so no one would see me get out of it.

Then I bought my 944, and well, I still park in the back, but thats so it doesn't get scratched. I get comments on how cool it is all the time. In my neighborhood, the little bastard teenage kids throw rocks at all the other cars...they wave at me in the Porche.....And this is in Las Vegas, where there are high roller cars all over the place.

People think your an *******?? Give em' the finger to give them the satisfaction of being right for once in thier pathetic, Porsche-less lives

Ok. I just read that, and it sounds really stuck up.

I'm really not (or I don't think I am anyway). I just love my Porsche, and I'm proud to own it.

LOL right there with you. Some kid gave me **** about it and i found out he drove a Tiburon!

Asked him how manly he felt driving a car all the girls called a "Tibby" -- and wondered aloud how it must have felt to have paid more than double what I paid for my car (NOTE: wise choice of words, as I only paid 6100 to 'get' the car -- and have since paid .... several dollars more keeping her running :-D)...

My old roommate was a treehugger who drove an Accent. He gave me **** for my car too -- it's like, you paid twice the price I paid for my Porsche and you got a --- oh. A Hyundai. Cool.

Yeah, I think most of our cars were "Cheap" LMAO

I paid 2200 for mine. I quit counting what I've put into it LOL And its worth every single penny....I bet the pennies weigh more than the car....but totally worth it.

in Australiasia (and maybe the JDM market too? not sure, i dont really follow these cars) we broke down the 1/2/3 gens of RX7 & got Series 1 through to 8.

They have a cult following here in New Zealand where we usually get JDM spec cars.

this is an old Top Gear episode of a 924S vs an n/a series 5 RX7
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/dCLL54aB74U&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/dCLL54aB74U&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

if it doesnt embed then:

i have a magazine comparison of an '87 honda CRX vs an '87 924S too. They are wheel to wheel until the crx tops out and the 924S adds another 20mph.

this is a selection of various series RX7's for sale in NZ, maybe if you want a cheap RHD to race it might be cheaper here than Japan...

I know. People look at me wierd when I tell them I want to buy another Porsche. I always get asked how old I am. And like was pointed out, they may drive a honda or something else but paid 4 times what I am going to pay for mine. If I had wanted to spend 20k or more on a car I could have a couple of nice 944 turbos.

This one hippy girl thought I was a republican because I have a Porsche and other ones in the family. Grief, I just have better taste and know how to spend my low wages. When I look at my friend's rx7 tt, which he bought for the same amount I paid for my 968, I do get tempted to get into the world of cheap quickness, but my car is just more reliable and higher quality and that's what I care about. But yes it's slow in comparison!

I think the FD is one of the best looking cars ever made. I would love to have one but they are a little pricey, esp for the age. I've always been warry about buying used turbo cars and those things have a problem with heat. Maybe after I build my next house and shop I might get one cause I'll have the room to work on it.

rx7s are fugly, like a ugly plastic japanese version of the 944.

the 3rd (last) generation rx7 which is extremely rare here is a very nice looking car but they are so expensive and it's hard to find one that is not a left hand drive japanese import and they go for around 20-25 k here...... but for that money I would buy a 996.

We also live in the land of salted roads. Which is probably why the California guys are still seeing those little rot boxes.
