+1 on Interstate -- I wouldn't mind Sears DieHard either. Personally, I'd avoid Optima, however.

Why avoid Optima? I've heard good things about them.

There's plenty of good feedback on Optima's -- but also lots of people reporting dead Optima within a year (on various forums). I've had two die on me so far. I've never had any issues with any traditional lead-acid battery.

YMMV

I agree. I've never had trouble with a lead-acid battery.

I just have never heard anyone talk bad of an optima. Don't think I'd ever buy one though lol

I've heard the bad and to good. I had a yellow top, the same one, for several years and from car to car. It was in my accord, something else and my 944. I had no problems.

It seems kinda of a hit and miss thing though.

MTP-91 Interstate

Had mine for about a year and a half so far. Works great, can leave for a few days and fires right up. They make some great batteries.

Optima's are great batteries, just usually not for Porsche's. I have also heard some issues about the batteries, as well as fittment issues with reguard to our cars.

I agree with the Interstate, you can't go wrong.
As for the Optima, I work for a defense contractor and we have a HMMWV that we do development work on. I installed a pair of Optima red tops 9 years ago and they have been drained down to nothing at least a dozen times. We are very hard on our batteries. The pair just died a couple of weeks ago only becouse some one chareged them backwards. A second set on another HMMWV has been going for about five years now including a trip to Iraq and Afganistian.
I currently have a red top in my Jeep with no problems (about 3 months now).
That's just my experience with Optima.

I've had the Interstate in my 951 for 6 years now. I've probably fully discharged it 6 times (or more) over that period. The car still starts right up after sitting for 2-3 weeks in my climate controlled garage. Pretty impressive.

I've had a Die Hard from Sears for about 2 years and am very pleased. Car has sat for a few weeks at a time, started fine. It also lasted many cranks when my DME relay failed.
