Default Radiator relacement and what other stuff do I need?

I tried searching, but alas, that was kind of a pain.

Anyway, my radiator has a leak and I want to know what other little gaskets and stuff I'll need. Looking here, I know that I'll need a gasket for the fan swtich, but will I also need to buy a new expansion tank nipple? (Or, more to the point... should I?) Are the radiator mounts necessary or should my old ones be ok. Lastly, is there anything else I'm missing?

I just want to have everything I need on-hand for the job.

Thanks!
BB.

Rad. mounts should be fine, mine came with the expansion tank nipple. I think just the fan switch gasket should do it for you.

Might be handy to have some new hose clamps in case your old ones are corroded. Also I would buy a new blue plug that goes in the lower corner of the radiator.

I actually happen to have one of those plugs laying around.

My clamps, at last check, looked good although I'll give them another look. Otherwise, just the fan gasket then?

By the way, stupid question... is there any way these things can be resealed, since the radiator looks to be leaking from the crimps on the end? Or is that not worth doing?

Not that I know, that is were mine was leaking as well. Had to buy a new one. The blue plug should come in the rad.

Some radiator repair shops can repair (reseal) leaking end caps - I've had it done on another vehicle. But I'd consider the age of the radiator if original. The radiator shop would have to assess the problem and they could tell you if they could fix it or not.

Yeah, it's original, which makes me wonder if it's really worth trying this or not. 21 years is a good run and the car does get tracked occasionally, so I'm not getting a warm-n-fuzzy from the reseal. But still, it's worth asking.

Two beer minimum, six to be safe (accounting for spillage, neighbor stopping by to see what you're doing, etc.)

Bravo!

Did I tell you I figured out a formula to determine how many beers a job is?

B = T(i)+1

Where:
B = the total Beer Job
T = Time
i = intoxication factor, or number of beers consumed per hour.

Exactly... why I did the last group buy and stashed it in the garage. Sure enough last summer the driver's side started leaking then the pass side, no prob, whip the new rad in and I was pretty pleased with my foresight.

Skip the water-wetter.
