Battery terminal question for Optima battery install
Is it safe to extend the positive battery terminal? I figured out a way to install the 75/25 Red top Optima battery using brass marine terminals and brass L post to SAE terminal adapters. It would extend the terminal by 1.5". I know it will work for the negative terminal, but I just wanted to be sure with the positive terminal.

Actually, that is exactly what I am doing. The problem is the stock battery cables are not as flexible to accomodate the battery on its side. I just want to make sure I do not short some relays or start a fire by having an extension on the positive terminal.
The 75/25 is compatible with my other car which comes in handy and Costco has a rebate right now on the Optima red tops $129.99 with a $25 mail in rebate.

I can't remember the exact specs on that battery but make sure you have clearance under the hood for it. I had to massage the hood cross memeber right there with a hammer so it would hit on the battery terminal.
