xsboost, I'd check the operation of the barn-door AFM, that can result like that..
However, now said - my running rough problem was a collapsed CAT. Once the pipe was removed it runs sweet and nice.

Real drivers use three pedals. (says the guy with a paddle-shift / DSG GTI)

A 968 tip has only 4 gears, widely spaced, it kills the whole point of the magnificent engine. They are auto boxes with user-selected gear. New tips are manny boxes with automatic clutches - an ideal design.

Not bashing tips, just saying the 997 tip is totally different. If you like old tip that's fine... different strokes... I love my automatic mercedes but i disliked my dad's 993 tip and so did he.

The one for sale? Yeah, but its not a cab... Doesn't she want to be able to put the top down, or are you gonna spring for a saratoga?

Regards,

Looks like a nice car. Has a rare interior color.
I am on the "to bad its a tip" band wagon, just for me at the stage in life.

Great color combo and truly low miles… For someone who does want the Tip, this looks like it could be a great deal.

These cars had the original Tip design, which already was a step forward from the automatics available on 944 NAs, but as has been pointed out, a far cry from the latest tips (which are being phased out for PDK…)

Still, it would be interesting to try a 968 tip, just to know for oneself how it really feels.

That said, the price is low enough that if the condition really lives up to expectations, one might contemplate the swap (probably too expensive still).

car is sold
I didn't have much time earlier, needless to say I bought the car this morning
it's not quite as nice as he stated it was, but I made a deal I am happy with
build sheet shows 34 option codes, I'm awaiting service records from Fla to confirm what may or may not need to be done
I'll post pics once I get it to the house later this week

rixter, pm me the details of your new one. I am tempted to make an offer on one, and my day job/life makes it impossible to reach a conclusion without analyzing data which is comparable completed sales.

It feels exactly like when you drive an automatic and slide the stick through D-3-2-1 to force shifts.
