Post Dash and Gauges

Ok I was just wondering if anyone ever saw an 83 with out the silver finish around the speedo and the center cluster where the A/C and the clock are? Because my 83 is just black finish and there is also no carpet around where the auto shifter is, just dash colored plastic does anyone know if this was an option or modified by the former owner? Don’t get me wrong I am not B**chin about this because it give the car a good look I think, but it makes me wonder if he did that what else did he do that was not documented.

I dont know about options, but I do know that the 924 series was the same parts minus the silver finish. Maybe they got changed over by a PO.

I put carbon fiber where the silver, and the carpeting was. I think it looks better. STILL haven't gotten around to the upper gauge cluster-it's only been a year...
