Yep you hit the big 3 hot button issues on this forum

1) Stupid cone filter that don't work but look "Way cool"

2) Underhanded Product promotion for your own benefits

3) ILLEGAL STREET RACING

And yes street racing IS illegal!

BTW... HPDE is NOT RACING. Neither is Autocross or Time Trial
Only wheel-to-wheel racing is racing.

At some point, the whole "everyone does it, so it must be OK" argument just becomes a load of ****.

And irresponsible assclowns who sell shirts promoting it just might someday find themselves on the recieving end of a lawsuit. Ask around, people are pissed enough to pursue some of you idiots. All you would need is some 16yo balling his car up into a busload of nuns, while wearing YOUR tshirt. At that point you should just start praying. I am positive you cannot afford to have that kind of heat.

It is appreciated that you are just a hustler, trying to make a buck, and be a decent fellow in the process. All the good intentions in the world mean squat when your basic premise is flawed.

quote:
Street Racing Is not a crime. Thanks for helping me advertise it. It's our #1 selling shirt. I don't even know how you got to that link. It hasn't been on the main site for a long time.

I don't care what you think really. Kids want to race you. I don't control them. I started out street racing. Now I track race (HPDE) at least once a month. How about yourself?

Take the time to browse the site and you will see that we actually promote "Legalalized Racing". We always promote car control.

Street racing is a crime, and even if it costs you a few bucks in lost tshirt sales to get out now, I assure you its the right choice. Not to mention, some of us would appreciate a vendor who took the high road for a change.

And please explain to me what car control does to help the little old lady in the Camry wagon, who freaks out when the headlights she thought were a minute behind her are suddenly looming like a T-Rex in the rearview causing her to swerve and hit her brakes allowing some assclown in a hotrod Civic with poly bushings and triple-adjustable shocks to become her new hood ornament by way of the trunk? Ask her poor dead *** about car control. What a pathetic arguement.

But then again, this is the same crowd that went wild over electric turbos.

As I said, that is not even an item that is posted on the main page. I don't sell those anymore.

Have you read this one? 2 Fast 2 Furious is being blamed.

Well...On the topic, I spent the night in the hospital in highschool waiting on word of two of my friends. Injured while street racing. Luckily they are both alive.

As it should be prosecuted. I think it is a DUMB reason to make a movie. However, freedom of expression...yadda yadda yadda...shouldn't endanger others EVER.

I was checking out your 944-spec site. Do you need a license to run in this?

I think this thread should end. Its not going to go anywhere regarding street racing...just a bunch of flaming back and forth. Once again sorry to Ryans.

Let us know what happens with the intake, I am still interested in what the dyno shows. To simulate the "ram-air" ducting idea...try to get a straight flow of air from the front of the car to the AFM, and if you have a high-speed fan in the shop...may help simulating (not exact, but may help) air flow into the intake.

Regards,

You can easily get a provisional NASA license with proof of an SCCA, PCA, or POC Racing License. Otherwise you would need to go through the documented procedure to gain the required experience (lots of HPDE's, Comp School, etc) to obtain one.

Ya know it is kinda sad but true....

These cars have been around for a while, guys have been racing them for a while and while I appreciate someone trying to make a buck. I doubt you are going to re-invent the wheel....I you want a fast car on the street a 944 n/a isn't it.
On the track or autocross course they are pretty good!

BTW, the ram air was tongue in cheek. I don't think these cars go fast enough to biuld boost but then you have to add fuel???
Engineers are pretty smart.......

The crowd on the Rennlist is fairly knowledgable and would guess that most of us prefer numbers and laptimes to "bling bling".
Maybe the sport compact guys like putting all the crap IMHO on their cars....
Look at the focus of that lame *** tv show called hi-rev tuners? (Super2nr TV good)
We have a dual play station with "pretty" neon lights inside and out along with 200lbs of speakers in the back this thing should really rock and roll with a 100 shot of nitrious. WOW... add that with a car that is lowered so much it bottoms everywhere that it handles like **** oooh that is not enough lets put some big *** spoiler on there cause ya know it really needs it driving at the limit on the way to work. Ya the limit on the street, they should say "their" limit! WOW....

Yes, DE's aren't racing! I think that is why it is called "DE" not race group go figure.
NASA requires licences that will get you a provisional with most organizations so it must be worth something.
What is funny that I had a guy that races with SCCA make a little unhanded comments about "well ya know NASA is OK" but if you want to run with real racers you need to run with SCCA.
Ya if I could figure out the rules and have a competitive classed car I might. What was funny is after being talked down to (he runs a 944 with better tires)I asked him what his lap time were? 1:58.8 mine 1:55:2 I guess running in the SCCA he is not competitive and just out there running by himself.
So I'm not sure why the childish question about "do you need a license"?
I meet a lot of guys that DE and autocross that don't wheel to wheel race but seem to like to tell everyione one they are racing....If it makes you feel better.... OK but is not wheel to wheel racing sorry not even close.

Have you tried the sales tech where you have a conversation with yourself using a alias? You know like
"FR" asks...anyone know a good chip?
"?? ????" answers well "FR" ...I know a great chip It was the #*#*#* chip I could really feel the difference you won't be disappointed.
Let me see if I can find their website.
Then some ******* like me will ask if you will give my money back if it doesn't make the power they say? : )

If anyone makes any bolt-on product that will give me 5WHP over what I currently have that is 944-Spec legal I will buy it for $400.
The only thing that really helped was a guru racing chip other than that I am still waiting?

That said keep trying Ryan! I hope you are getting free dyno time. There you have it find a consistant 5 WHP dyno proven on my car and get $400.
Email in confidence at pjbloom1@prodigy.net

I've been sipping, but...

Put whatever filter you want on the na, but you ain'gonna go warp speed. So, the solution'de'especial' is how to reduce the OE filter restriction (box, filter only using a very small portion of the media for "filtering" ...look at an old paper filter to see what that means... if you believe in K&N panel filters, they allow more air through what useable are there is in the box - tru'nuff) Since the engine compartment is the worst place to draw air from (radiator/condenser urinates hot air into the area where ANY/ALL direct-fit cone filters will reside) the ONLY real solution to reducing intake air temperature AND allowing more air ingestion is to remote the filter or direct the air to the filter. Racing rules don't allow extensive modification of the body that would allow directed cool air flow to the original filter area - and, that's a very risky mod for street folk. So, we are left to use the existing structure to create a real cold-air intake. Simple, right? YES! Run tubing directly from the AFM to a low-pressure cold-air source that is SAFE and LEGAL. About 2' of 3" brake duct and a K&N (or other) 3" cone filter to the left fender (OE hole is suitable, filter resides in fender sans OE S-tube) will/does work perectly. Now, you have a expanded-length cold-air intake, plentiful LP air, and little chance of water ingection - all located in an area that is legal and does not suck elecated-temp near-track-surface air. Expect at least a 1/2HP gain - for more sound, run a microphone output to the stereo speakers

lalalalala, lalalala!

Sssssssssssssssss...

EDIT: uhhh, sorry - I thought this thread was about intakes - guess I didn't read far enough...

I know my 5-6 HPDE events that i've been to won't qualify me for open track racing, but I am interested in reading about what it takes to get more involved.
