Can this manufacturer you talk of make a carbon fiber or fiberglass splitter? I'd be interested in what the price may be on that.

Ryans, you have a PM...

As for the intake mods, I hate to break the news to y'all, but I am pretty sure the bottleneck is the AFM, not the airbox... Porsche did a very good job wringing out the most practical amount of performance that you are going to get easily. John Anderson seems to be on the right path for getting real performance out of a N/A, but thats with a 3.1 ltr engine with lots of porting on the intake and exhaust. I would hardly call that an "easy upgrade".

The real glory in playing with a 944n/a is in lightening the car and tweaking the suspension and brakes, in my opinion. If you really need hp, the 944na is not the best platform to work with.

Regards,

I'm sorry once again. I now realize what you are doing.

I think it would be interesting to have an intake system for the 944 which pulls air where the 944S attempted and 944S2 does...the nose. That would surely be something people would have interest in...I'm curious for dyno results, as I'm sure many of us are. Keep us posted.

The factory is a cold air intake. Does pressure biuld up in the wheel well at speed???
If you really need to pull air from the front and want experiment with tube diameters and lenths then cut the tube off the intake but leave a inch or so have something to mount the duct to and you can run it anywhere you want using flex ducting. Make it a ram air...You don't even need to cut the duct to make it different lenths. Dyno away....
Please tell us what your car dyno'd. I like to get as much info a our cars as possble.

It really is hard to get more power out of a stock n/a with w/o doing stuff like John Anderson does.

Well the other thing is....with ducting running to the front of the car, a dyno won't help. If you are trying to Sim a ram-air setup by using ducting, it won't do anything substantial without the car moving.
I agree with Scott, the intake is pretty much tweeked as much as possible. The only way to improve much is try to get cooler air to the intake. On an S or S2 you can install a vented nose panel, and with the S try to reseal that opening or modify the plastic tube to collect more of the air (may serve as a PITA when changing the oil filter ). Good luck all!

I'm starting to think that Scott is right. It might be at it's limit. I Once had this configuration. I had the MSDS intake on, but I took off the filter and put on the Dragon filter. The dragon intake is upgradable to have a heat shield and ram air kit on it. Here is a pic when I had it on my Sentra. You get the idea.

<img src="http://www.streetracing.org/article/products/weapon-r/coldair/6.JPG" alt=" - " />

So I had both of these and it went outside the wheel well. When I dyno'd the car last year with this intake it was making 125.7HP.

This week my car dyno'd in at 125.5HP with the stock box. With my new intake I was only pushing around 120HP.

If your curious about my Nitrous Dyno here it is.

<a href="http://www.sromagazine.com/article/nos/" target="_blank">http://www.sromagazine.com/article/nos/</a>

I think I'll be going back to Weapon-R this week and they're going to do a new configuration. The owner was talking about doing a cold air box to see how it will work out. I'll have pics of my dyno up when I get them off my digital camera.

I would like to ask a question here because, last time I checked, an intake was the cast part that connected the AFM thingy to the little holes going through the head to the valves. Dunno, I coulda sworn that thing was just another airfilter with a pipe going to the AFM, not an intake.

And I am not sure I really need a $250 carbon hood, I would honestly expect to pay more for a good quality fiberglass unit, much less a well made carbon. How about you play nice like the man said, and just tell everyone upfront its a business gig?

Why don't you go sell hoods and blinga intakes over at <a href="http://www.corner-carvers.com?" target="_blank">www.corner-carvers.com?</a> They love that ****. By the way, plastic "dragon wings" are a pretty ****-poor concept under a 944/951 hood.

maybe i shouldnt be so pretentious driving a 15yearold used car but when a kid in a honda, mustang WHATEVER revs his engine at me while im sitting at a red light i already know he is an *******, why associate ourselves or our cars with this scene?

again ryans i dont mean to be unfair to you but i found this pic on the same site that you promote with all your 944 pictures and you have associated with the things you are trying to sell us which makes me automaticly think "guys like this with websites like this are why i see teenagers crashing into eachother like f*cking bumper cars"

Street Racing Is not a crime. Thanks for helping me advertise it. It's our #1 selling shirt. I don't even know how you got to that link. It hasn't been on the main site for a long time.

I don't care what you think really. Kids want to race you. I don't control them. I started out street racing. Now I track race (HPDE) at least once a month. How about yourself?

Take the time to browse the site and you will see that we actually promote "Legalalized Racing". We always promote car control.

Here are examples:

having said the above now it's time to flip the coin to the other side. You're well aware controversial topics will provoke the like reaction. Cone intakes, especially sitting almost on top of the engine is controversial to put it mildly. Your "business" relations with the mentioned company makes your "recommendation" even more controversial. Finally the title of your website...naw...I won't even get into that.
