Recommendations on a 944 exhaust
Well I'm hearing that muffler leaking sound...only when cold, but I know where this is going. The local parts guy wants $375 for oem cat back! I want to keep 'close' to stock...I really don't want to wake up the neighbors or have a ricer tin can hanging out back but a bit of an improvement isn't out of the question. What is out there for an NA that's better than stock but not outrageous in look or price?

Paragon Products has the OEM catback for $262.56.
One that is widely considered a nice sounding and looking stainless steel upgrade is the SFR exhaust for around $600. http://www.speedforceracing.com

Do you know what "OEM" he was referring to? Bosal makes a replacement that's a bit less than that. Have you investigated the actual source of the sound - can it be "fixed"? Other that the Bosal, everything else is more expensive. Best bet might be to pick a muffler (I like Borla) and have it welded on - even if you have to replace the cat-back piping, that might come in less and you've got a little better performance. For good OE style, sound and performance try the Bosal.
Good Luck!

Yea, I'll crawl under and see if I can find the source of the sound...maybe it'll be something simple. If I do replace it I probably will spring for a SS set...thanks for the pointers.

If its a rattle, check the mount/hangers and bolts. If its a leaky noise (sounds louder than it should), check where the pipe from the tip meets the muffler and where the joint is between muffler and catalytic.
