Help! I have a 1982 944 Lux and both electric windows have stopped working - I have replaced every single fuse in the fuse box. I had an alarm/immobiliser/central locking system fitted a good few years ago - could it be anything to do with this? Or could it be a relay that needs replacing? Maybe a wiring fault? The motors still work (I think) as the last time the windows 'moved' was both windows were down, I reached my destination and went to close them and nothing happened. I pressed my remote to lock the car (accidentally) and the windows automatically closed and they haven't moved since! Any advice gratefully received.....Thanks:

If controlling the windows is a feature of the alarm system, then I believe the fault is with the alarm. According to this SITE there is no window relay. The only other thing I can think of is the switches on the driver door. You can pop them open and clean the contacts / inspect for damage or failure.

I have always wondered: What is a "lux"? In America we just have 944s and 951s.

Thanks for your advice - I'll get the alarm system checked, as have already took out door switches and cleaned them. As far as I know, the 'Lux' refers to the 1st production run for the UK in 1982, of which only around 3,800 were produced. The 'next one up' in the UK is the S2 which is the turbo version.
