Default ATTN: 2 944's stolen in SC

Two early 944's I had at our farm in south carolina were stolen along with a bunch of other stuff from the house both were red one was an auto the other a stick. Both were primarily going to become parts cars as they both had some body damage. We got a call from the cops down there saying the house had been broken into. Mom's going down this weekend to take inventory

dorchester out by harleyville, we have a 3K acre farm there, but we only go down there every couple of months to check on things. Nobody lives anywhere near the farm so noone can keep an eye on it for us. Probably some crack heads needing dope money took them for scrap.

We are always looking for non-running parts cars here in TN, if some show up based on the description you gave, we'll let you know.

Were they running or towed away? What kind of body damage?

One had RF damage the other was hit in the pass quarter. Both ran but neither had a battery or keys in them so they most likely were towed. They also took an 86 ford truck that was our farm beater, the battery and keys were not in it as well. We only get down there evry couple ofmonths but a friend who lives in the area happens to be a cop and keeps an eye on the place, he's the one who called us. Last year they called and had found a meth lab and some pot plants on the property about a mile from the house, the guys who farms the land found it and called the cops, who subsequently contacted us. Thats why I figure they got scrapped for drugs or something. One of the cars had all interior out of it and part of the header panel cut off. Thanks Guys

Wow. Good luck. It's a tight community of 944 owners and I doubt they'll get much sold before they get sniffed out. Watch eBay and Craigslist. Good luck. Any notable parts to look out for? Auto trans is one.

PS: If I'm going to support myself stealing stuff, 944s are not going to be my primary target! Jeebus, these guys probably thought they were going to sell a bunch of Porsche parts. If they're smart, they'll bring the cars back where they got them.

That sucks to hear, but if you only drop by every couple of months and value your stuff, perhaps a web accessable surveillance system was in order.

Times are tough, and people are doing crazy s*it.
