Default I just had a quick question:

I know there are some guys on here who know a ton of info on suspension, engine, body etc.

so would anyone be interested in writing up a "stickie post" ? like have one for suspension, one for engine, one for body?

I've seen this at a few other places; or would this not be allowed? it would save lots of time on searches and getting back results that say "use a search"

I've had a few threads that had interesting info on suspension , but lost the , and I don't want to look like an *** and start another one, and get "use the search" as answers

thx

While I agree with you that there are lots of experts on suspension, engine, body etc on here, I don't think having a stickie would work since there are so many varying opinions on what is the best suspension, engine mods, etc, and so much of it depends on what you can afford!

It'd be a good idea for the 944 DIY forum, though

Someone could start it off or post a link to a thread, others could chime in with their opinions (and how much they spent!)

If anyone asks in the future, you could point them to the DIY forum instead of searching.

yeah something like that, but keep it clean; and for dummies

I just meant like "the most basic suspension upgrade is ... good shocks, tires"
"next stem - sways"
or lowering, or whatever, and have a few options

save time for other people, and won't have to agravate yourself with "use search" posts and replies

like right now, I'm trying to figure out if something like Billstein Escort system on Lyndsey's can be used on an early 944; I udnerstand that turbo stuff is an upgrade to N/A, but there are so many years of this car and different variations, I am simply not sure

I also wanted to get a seat, I already know which I want (choice of 3), but not sure if there is a mounting bracket for a 944, so can another one be used (from another company? someone made their own?)

and then the whole oil, grease, fuel, engine mod thing; it would simply help out others/yourself by doing something like this

no BS, no discussion, just straight proven facts

just looking @ making this slightly easier, because I tried using a search and came up with pages of stuff and no info, but if I make another thread, it probably won't get any replies or it will get the "use a search" thingie

I haven't been around these cars for too long (just a year), but I'd like to learn tons of more ...

Therein lies the problem.

I think we should have a few stickies, too. Like "How to turbo your n/a", the online PET and shop manual locations, and frequently asked questions/common problems.
And maybe even what to do right after you buy your n/a. Like check the timing belt and all that sht...

Good idea, there is a ton of info on here - problem is that it's scatterred in dozens of threads.

Also, when something like that is stickied, the pics should be stored seperately from the user's account. There are tons of older threads with, "look at this pic to see how you should do it" and all there is, is just a little box with a red X

there has to be something that everyone agrees on though, start from there and then let the person make the thread and ask for more info or search

just basic stuff
