Ah, ok, now I'm with you. Just went and tested as you described and yes, infinite resistance between the 2 wires, as one would expect.

 

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy. Too much time wiring fire alarm and other life systems where every freakin device has a resistor in it between the 2 wires to identify where things have failed.

I fail at life and haven't called sunset yet. I need to place a bunch of calls before I go to work tomorrow so I'll try to ring them up for a reality check on the price of a new one then I'll let you know Thanks for checking yours for me.
