Do aftermarket shift ***** easily fit the stock shifter?
I was looking at a Hurst shift **** today. Plain, aluminum ****, nice looking, only $29. But how do I know if it will fit? It looks like it screws into whatever shifter it goes on, and our shifters are like that as you know. So, are all aftermarket ***** this screw type, or what? How would I get it to fit? I'd like to get it because the leather on the top of my shift **** is getting worn, and it's cheaper.
TIA,
Matt

The OE ***** are made of leather covered rubber for a reason. If you fit an aluminum **** it will make an annoying sound from the gear shaft vibration and drive you crazy.
Unless you go all out and change the whole assembly, I wouldn't touch it, if I were you.

FWIW when I first got my car I wanted to change the shift *** to a Momo. However the information I got was that they are not an exact fit so it takes some "customization".
After driving the car I am pretty sold on the ergonomic design of the Porsche shifter and IMHO you can't improve on it much.
