I've got one but unfortunately, it looks just like yours kind of a 1/2-moon shaped indentation around the rim of the mounting hole. I think there are a couple on ebay. My replacement was from 944Online (I think); $20 if I remember right....Bruce

Chris, you are so precious! I bet your girlfriend is someone special, too, just like you.
I never thought of that - do they do as much as us 944/951 gals? I am very curious!
I mostly love to know my car, and how to take care of it, and never be stranded again.

Just to let you all know how important that little 5$ rubber O-ring is (the one I didn't see or replace)on my car is now leaking oil, just a few drips at this point but it will probably get worse, I have the seal arriving tomorrow so will have it sorted before the weekend.
Good to hear your car is running again Michelle, your experience is why I work on my own car, I figure why trust anyone else with something that can kill me if they get it wrong.

Total parts cost- under 10 bucks..
I also would like to know how many 911/930/996/986 women are out there- actually WORKING on thier cars.
I bet its dam near none..You ladies are an inspiration,.

The ladies here are awesome, I learned quite bit from their postings...keep up the information flow, you have fans...

On the other forums...they really give lame advice!? Don't any of them successfully work on their cars?
Just sad. At least we seem to hang together and though we flirt a little, we all seem to work together to solve problems...love you all!

Jay- Not yet.. I just did a half an hour shake out yesterday evening. Started at 9 am- finished at 7 last night. got the last bolt in, 1/2 turn past hand tighten- and thoroughly cleaned, degreased and pressurewashed the underside. I still have a small drip near the firewall, but it may still be oil from the huge blowout.
Got the blue- will re torque today and add the Loctite.
I also found out I sheared the AC compressor mtg bolt on the belt tensioner side- must have snapped loose a while ago- my mech put one in during the belt retentioning last month. I'll have to drill that out and bolt it up today.

Don’t use lock-tide on the bolt. The bolt’s narrow thread in combination with the concave washer will prevent the bolt working lose if the correct torque is applied.
Using lock-tide will make it extremely difficult to remove the bolt in the future. You’ll probably need a heavy duty impact driver. This means removing the radiator, to be short, a lot more work. Next to that you could sheer the bolt. That would be very unpleasant.
Don’t think: “well I’ll use lock-tide anyway because I’ll never have to remove the bolt again”. Murphy’s law will prove you wrong.

Dont get me wrong, there are very sharp folks in the aircooled community (as here), its just that I noticed that when a lady posts a ? then the posturing begins...knuckleheads come out of the woodwork. Most of the credit for me being here goes to you guys. I was very apprehensive about posting on an all-male (99.9%)forum. But there was little to no ridicule and I was treated with the same respect you guys gave each other. My opinions mattered, my advice wasn't scoffed at, and people would answer my questions w/o being condescending. I am happy here and the wealth of knowledge is amazing. I would love to one day own a 993, but I'm scared to lose this community (not to mention I'll never be able to afford one! ). You guys deserve a pat on the back. I think this board is definitely more than the sum of its parts.
