Post How Do I Align Warped Headers?

I'm having some trouble installing some used headers that I bought off a good fella on rennlist who had them cleaned up and all the cracks welded with inconel wire. They look great but upon trying to install them I found out my 2-3 header is warped so that the top of the Y is about 3/16 of an inch too close together. The 1-4 header is warped so that the top of the Y is about 3/8" to close together.

A few people have said that this is somewhat normal and you just have to "adjust" them a little bit. Well I am having a lot of problems figuring out how to "adjust" these bad boys. Any thoughts or suggestions, experienced or not, are most welcomed.

Thanks,
John

Take a breaker bar or thick screw driver and use it to pry the headers into place. Pry in different directions on the flange to get all the bolts in. Once you have the bolts inserted and some nuts on them, tighten them in stages like you would on a wheel, in a criss cross pattern. This will draw the headers into proper alignment.
