Hi Luke,

Sponsorship has been brought up, and infact it is geting done. I have been emailing Jennifer for a while, no response. I even added a topic to the list to get a response. I just closed an email to her agreeing on a banner ad.

I do support the list, and am a member. This is truley the greatest thing going.

Take Care!

Yeah, that sounds GREAT.... TIM is BY FAR the greatest most mature guy I have ever come across!

I have read the posts on the sponsership, but obviously ( judging by the reaction of listers on this thread ) it isn't working the way we would want it, or it isn't enough?!?!

I think people would expect to see your name somewhere on the site.

We all know you are using this board to promote your business. Lets not see any more racing threads, how about put them on your website you pay for, then drop us a link on the board. If people want to go read it, they will- if not they wont.
I dont mind the mud slinging because I enjoy comedy, but in the end thats all it is: comedy
So If you guys want to amuse everyone on the forum, keep at it. Thats really the only productive thing you are doing- making us laugh

I agree that all the updates should be on the AMW website. But I must say when I see a post that says "Anderson car at..." I can't help but read it. I think it's great that they are going out there and getting it done with a 84 944. I'm a sucker for small time things, small businesses, etc. One really good piece of advice was brought up, that is, PICTURES, pictures, updates and more pictures need to be on the website.

BTW, I also think Tim is a great guy. He helped me out on the phone when I wasn't even going to buy anything from him.

Well,

This is only my second post ever. I try to avoid all the stuff that goes back and forth. But I must chime in and respond to what Silverbullet951 said:

"It's a little obvious you guys are not in it for the love of the business or for the interest of the customers"

In defense of Anderson and Huntley, both of these guys are in it for the love of the cars and the business. They each got started in it after having owned these fine cars and turned a passion into a business. Same holds true for Tim at SFR. I can say for certain they are all concerned about customers. Like any segment of business, some guys are better than others.

Hey, this is supposed to be fun. I'm like others on the list. Simply an enthusist/customer who races and wants to have fun. I can say I had the most fun last weekend in the Anderson car than I've had in six previous attempts throughout the year in my own car. No slam, just the truth.

As far as posting results, I think it's fine and interesting to see. Just my opinion. The problem arises when the facts are not presented accurately. Racing is about results and being there at the end, not a fast lap, qualifying etc.

I hope these guys have put it to rest to the benefit of all. Lets move on!

Speaking of posting timeslips...

John- What would one of your maxed out 2.8L's do at WS w/a nice susp (maybe 400lb springs)? I know Cervelli ran a 1:24 w/his car, Danno's run in the 1:34's or 1:35's, stock Turbo S ran 1:41 when new, 951 was ~1:45, 944NA was ~1:48.x, 968CS was 1:43.x, etc- I'm just curioius... Also, right before you left Huntley, I had called & asked about susp- you & Derek had said you could set me up w/full coil-overs w/Huntley custom shocks, as opposed to larger T-bars, w/non-951 spec aftermarket shock (I believe the site said other shocks were valved for Carrera's...) etc. One of you had told me that you could set me up w/a susp that would "run circles around Graham Gillies car" as that was the car I was most wanting to emulate at the time... Anyway, what would cars like that run? Any idea? I'm just trying to get an idea of how much difference we're really talking about w/some of these cars, considering all the different power levels & susps- GG's car had 350-410lb progressive springs w/30mm T-bars, & 31mm & 22mm sways, Koni's, etc. I realize that you can't say for sure, w/out driving each car, but I'm just wondering if you would have any idea what some of these cars might be capable of- estimates...

Thanks,
Robby

I guess I will put in my $0.02 in here ....

Being a 944 NA racer I really want to hear about John's 3.1L racer. To me it is intersting reading about what happened out at the track. It is something I would like hear in person I if knew John that way. Keep the updates coming.

Derrek,
Same story I would love to hear about races with your cars especially unique approaches to the 944/951 that you may be running. Personally I am not big fan of your Boxster, but that is because I am not really in to tube-frame stuff.

Now what don't really care to hear about is how the Huntley car is faster than the Anderson car or vise versa. I really don't care who has the bigger "richard" or who is a "Donkey's butt". Just post YOUR results, driving impressions and let us figure who was faster.

Also I only want to hear stories cars OWNED by either shop. If a customer car does well great, but let the customer tell the story since it was his money that made it all happen and it is really their car not yours not mater how much work you did to it. If you do not own the car then it you can't claim the car as your own nor can the other guy say he beat you if it was a customer car. We all know that the customer wants their car for a specific purpose and to a budget. Just because one of Anderson's Customer's cars is faster then one of Huntley's customer's cars mean squat about Shops.

Oh.. Like many other guys said... bickering infront of customers and potential customers does nothing to help your repuation. Just because on guy throws some mud does not mean the other guy should fire back. In time if one guy throws alot of mud it will become pretty obvious who has the more mature organization.

I have yet to see a negative post from The Racers Group, and all they did was win at Le Mans and Daytona.

Just goes to show you that if a person has class in one area, they usually have class in all areas.

Success speaks for itself

I've never told anyone I had problems with them posting because they didn't donate money. I'm not hypocritical. Please hold while I forward you to Luke's department.

Heh, this is turning into a Rennlist civil war.

Oh c'mon Bill, there's lots of other 'value adds' besides spell check! What about all the graemlins?
Anyway I think your comments about TRG are spot-on. Although a flame war between TRG and Alex Job might be interesting (in the "Racing" forum, of course)....
