If you put lipstick on a pig, it will still be a pig.

i would agree, but it isn't pretending to be anything other than a neon...the wing should be tossed, but that is a hell of a deal. If you were shopping for a NEW car and had a low 20's budget, i would take performance over looks anyday IMO. What else can you get for that price? An anemic Civic Si? A stripped Cooper S that isn't any faster than an Si? I'd take my $500 rebate, the new car, ditch the wing, a manual boost controller and just smile.

Ohhh... this reminds me.. The other day I saw a red strech limo NEON..... and it had duel fart cans on it.
Goes along with the strech Hummer and Strech F-350 that you can rent down here.
You see some weird stuff when you live in south florida.

Still though - gives me a sense of urgency for getting a bigger turbo and chips in my car. Being slower than a factory Boxster S or Honda 2000 is one thing - but a Neon???

Just HOW daft IS Dodge???
What should have been done with that car is an obvious name change. I know Neons are big in the Rice crowd and perhaps that is who this car is marketed towards, but don't they know the average income level of the typical Ricer?
This car should have just received some newer, different headlights and gone by another name. It doesn't look like a Neon (except those damn headlights) as much as I thought it would. That Yellow one towards the bottom of the page looks a lot different than the average Neon.
It should have been the "Dodge Leviathan" or the "Dodge Prestissimo" (Prestissimo means "fast", by the way) or the "Dodge Perspica". They could have gone "animal" and called it the "Dodge Gazelle". They even could have gone "sound" and called it the "Dodge Swoosh" (they could even have a "Nike Edition") or "Dodge Bolt" or "Dodge Scamper". They even could have gone "fun" and called it the "Dodge Skedaddle". ANYTHING but "Dodge Neon"!!!!
I guess that is why they are Dodge.
