Question Oil light with normal pressure

I just drove about 450mi and to prep I gave my baby an oil/plug/filter change. The dip reads pretty much at the full line, maybe even a bit over when hot. Here's my funky question:

The oil light started flickering at low RPM's and went off when I was accelerating or over 4000RPM. In idle I was at about 3bar and cruising I was at 5, everything fine. I pulled off to check my levels and everything was peachy, but as I drove, the light would come on at higher RPM's and would still flicker and turn off if I accelerated past that. Would too much oil cause the light to come on?

Any thoughts?

Are you sure it's the oil light? I've seen low brake fluid throw an intermittent light like you describe.......

On my car, the oil pressure gauge and light are driven off of the same sending unit. That sending unit can fail on either side-the gauge may be working-but the light side may not be functioning correctly.

I think it's an $80 part at Porsche-

Lose connections on the back of the instrument cluster might do this. With mine it was the voltmeter working intermittently along with the oil pressure gauge dancing. When either of these acted up the ! light would come on. Maybe you have a lose connection on the other side of the cluster that drives the check oil light.

Whoops, I need to clarify - it's the oil pressure light that comes on (along with the idiot light "!"), the one at the bottom of the oil-pressure gauge, not the low-oil light.

I'll check the grounds and all to see if I can find something loose.

Just to make sure though, there's no reason why the light would be showing up when there's normal oil pressure, right? I'm getting 3 bar when at temp in idle and 5 when driving. What else could trip the sensor?

Thanks for the help!!
