Default Are we the dirty step children of Porsche?

Maybe its just me, but I have noticed that if I make a post anywhere but either of the two 944/951 threads, they get very few responses. And, If I do get a response, its usually some smart *** remark from some dude with a cayman, a carrera, or a 911

Are 944 owners shunned because our cars are cheap (well, for a P-car), thus we are poor? I know alot of highschool kids have our cars (No offence to all you 16 year olds), but does that mean we're ALL highschool kids? I know I'm happy to give advise to anyone needing help with our cars, when I can.

I know I'm pretty new to Rennlist, so alot of people don't know me, but I have noticed this. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I guess the jokes true...... A porcupines ****** are on the outside lol

I've never noticed any problem...
Maybe you just happened upon a jerk.

And, you tend to get few responses outside of the front engine areas because we have by far the highest number of users.

But.... we are the coolest. No contest.

Well feel good at the fact that a majority of the boards like that can't even change their own oil. There are several of them that are pretty good guys though, then there's the ones who buy expensive Porsches just to brag about it. That said I have noticed that a 944 owner will be flat out ignored by even boxster owners... Sad but true.

Aren't the only Boxster owners women? I mean, its right in the name... BOXster

OK OK....joke... It would be dumb to undermine my own thread HAHAHA

I honestly would help anyone out. To me, this whole website is amazing. I mean, there are people here from all over the world, all with the same make of car. I can understand some people being dicks to people on the street, just because they have a Porsche....but not on this site. Were all in the same fight man!!!

+1 Cameron. I think the 944 owners are the biggest do-it yourselfers...and I like that.

944 Owner - I recently got a lot of help posting a problem with my Mercedes Benz trans on the 928 forum. They could not have been nicer.

I think anywhere there are Porsches there are the snobs lurking in with the nice guys. There are even some in the 944 neighborhood who think that everything needs to be the best, like if you want to save money on something, someone will come out and say "Its a Porsche, if you cant afford to do it right, don't own it"

get rid of your signature, and put a 911 in your avatar, then post the same thing off topic and see if you get no responses because of your car, or because of the topic.

I got snubbed working a corner today by a 911 driver. he told me wheels for his car cost 3k because he as a 90 C4. I told him where there was a set for sale for 500.

schmuck was mixing up bolt pattern being unique to porsche with offset of his wheels being unique to his car.

when we went back to our cars I looked at his wheels and pointed out that they were the same rears as mine, and i had a set in my garage that would fit his car.

knowledge is the best revenge. so is getting the pass from a 996 twin turbo after staying on his **** for two laps because he cant shake me - and i dont have an aftermarket throttle cam.

One of my favorite club racers drives a 944! He smokes some of the cup cars and that makes me smile. He & his wife are really great people. Anyone that looks down their nose at anyone else is only hurting themselves so let it roll off & keep doing what makes you happy.

Oh, and I'm a girl... that drives a Cayman... AND I change my brake pads! I did help flush my brake fluid as well but I was the one in the car pushing the pedal. That should count for something.

Girls that drive Porsches are one of my favortie things!!!

I'll have to try that Tom. I've only posted a couple things anywhere but here, but it seems that when I do, it goes straight to the bottom of the list. And I never get responses to my replys.
