Hey, Chris, I had forgotten about that ! Said he had an '83 944 and an engine all ready to go in it, a 383, but he didn't want to affect the originality of the car and just wanted some "subtle customization" not to take away from the lines of the car, like Testarossa side strakes. I was just thankful he went away fairly quickly, like before the banjo music started playing.......

I really wanted to go, but unfortunately I simply couldn't push it up on the list of stuff to do on the weekend. Perfect day, though. Maybe next year...

I was trying to pretend like I was sleeping on my blanket thru that whole conversation but I could hardly keep a straight face.

Thats the first time Ive ever heard someone utter the words "Testarossa" and "subtle" in the same sentence. I was about to recommend the Do-It-Yourself-At-Home Trans Am Firebird on the hood with a Sharpie idea.

Fishey, I don't think it matters what we all do for our cars for next year because by then there will be a new sheriff in town; Brian Perry is his name. I don't think he'll have to kiss babies or hand out five dollar bills to be elected.

I say we all pool our money and buy some raggedy *** 944 and turn it into the Ill-Fated Rebuild Killer Nemesis just to show our own panache for teamwork and competition. Are we really going to let one man convince us of our own staggering 951 insignificance? We are nearing that point already. Take a look at his photos. Its making our own P-Cars look like amateur night at the Hofbrauhaus.

Check your couch cushions. We can do this.

Of course, we might need to check under our floor mats too if we elect to go with the Testarossa side vents and airbrush tigerlady to complete the custom look.

But thats our business. The P-Man stands no chance when he sees our TajMaJawDropper. With a little iron work I think we can stick two engines in it. Maybe three, but whos to say right now. Thats what AutoCad is for. And we were always talking about that beer tap for rear seat passengers. The point is, we can build it. We have the technology. Bigger. Stronger. Faster [insert Lee Majors running in a corderoy jogging suit sound effects here].

And apologies to those Rennlisters we missed (which is just about everybody else). Had we been in the show, I'm sure we would have had more time to actually visit. But as our weekend got very busy, we could only be there as spectators. Oh well, definitely next year. The cars looked great!
