I buy stuff from them every now and then. (NEVER shipped..though) They destroyed a used guage by paking it in a box with a CV joint. I returned it and am waiting on the credit.

I only use them in a pinch. If you don't have a part #, forget it!!

I used them for my PPI - was a VERY positive experience on the account. In anycase, if you send me proof of auction/payment, I'll go see what I can do locally. Sometimes a little local intimidation does wonders....

I have only dealt with them once (mid-90's), in person, and they were very accomodating. I'm sorry to hear that their service has slipped. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

Since we're bashing Auto-Atlanta....here's my experience: Purchased a few items totalling $25 (not much...I know). They said they'd e-mail a tracking #. 3 days pass and no e-mail. So I call for a status and find out the item hasn't shipped yet. So I decided to cancel the order since nobody took 3 seconds to email me about the delay. Then a week later I get a charge on my credit card & they shipped the item!! They were rude on the phone & wouldn't pay return shipping and I decided it wasn't worth it. I'll never buy from them again.

Yeah I probably won't buy anything else from them. I got a Porsche calendar from them on ebay, something like "$25 -- These normally go for $40, get yours at a great price today!"

And then they charged me $15 shipping and handling.

Whatever.

Ebay is both great and bad in this aspect...I have gotten a 1 week old set of wheels and tires worth more than $2k for only $600 and also paid a premium for a new in box scanner that was shipped in it's box with no extra packaging and arrived with the glass broken....the reply was 'what did you expect for the price you paid on a scanner that sold for over $1k new?'

Tons of people not honoring the sale and relisting an item a week later at a higher price, etc...

Still there are many deals to be had.

I've been several times... Based on what I've heard I will never order anything from them, however I do go pick up parts there from time to time. They did the timing belts for me on the 944. But I'm the only person I've ever heard that hasn't had a bad experience.

I have always had a great experience with them but I'm also a local and I just run over to their place to pick up my parts. George is a little cold at first but he seams to warm up after you ask about his 356's.

I've picked up a couple of things from AA with no problem. Never tried to have an order shipped, though.
