We will be there on the week end of September 12-13th. Staying at Fontana Inn. There is a bunch of Porsche guys from Charleston- Myrtle Beach, SC going to be there that week end. I will take the 996 Cab.

You should PM black86turbo? Richard l ives up there, but for some reason I can not remember his ID 100%. If it were going to be a cooler day, and I had 1/2 tank of gas I'd be all over it, but with the light on, I'll have to wait. But anyother time I'd be there. This wedding is getting more and more expensive as the day gets nearer.

Tell me about it. Next Saturday for me...

From what I've read about the Tail of the Dragon, it seems awesome. Makes my drive to work boooooooooooooring by comparison. I'm a LITTLE far away, though. Plus, I'll be at the track.

I've been to the "tail" and I think it is a rediculous waste of time. I hope you don't plan to break the speed limit or drive like its some kinda track. It is a public road-and a boring one at that. By all means go and support the local communities with your dollars, but try to include the remainder of western NC while your spending. There are much better roads to enjoy the nature of a Porsche on without breaking the law.

Would love to see some pics, I unfortunately have to work today or I would drive up there. It is a bit of a hike from here but well worth it. Watch out for the police, they have realy cracked down hard up there.

I heard the tail was kind of crappy unless you find a really good day to go. Supposedly it's always really crowded with rv's and such and cops are constantly going to and fro just looking for someone taking a curve too hard.

Cameron, you are partially correct. It is very crowded not with RVs but Harleys and it makes it hard to have fun. Also the police have seriously cracked down. It used to be great up there as long as you stayed on your side of the road you were fine, now if you look fast they will bust you.

Still well worth the trip though. I have done it several times and don't feel the need to go again for a long time. For those that have never been it is well worth it.
