ok so i have the pressure plate back on and the throwout bearing moves back and forth about an 8th of an inch in any direction. its almost like the fingers are spread out to far. is that normal or did i do something wrong? i fiure it wont move once the fork is on it.

You get the shims worked out? You want that tight in there, or it will make noise and wear more.
