Where to buy synthetic 10/15/20w50?
I had a heard time finding it and got ripped off when I finally did at napa auto parts. Is there somewhere to order good oil cheaply or something? They charged me $38.50 for 7 quarts. I *thought* remembered kmart caryiung mobil 1 for 24 or 26 a case but they don't carry that wieght. Thanks! <img src="graemlins/drink.gif" border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" />

NAPA just had a sale in this area about a week ago--$3.99 a quart---a variety of viscosities available. Still not quite as good as the other guys are quoting but Wal-Mart here is more than that (about $4.38 if I remembere right). Costco is selling a 6 pack of 10W-30 for under $22. Probably depends on areas of the country and how its all marketed. Best to watch for the sales and stock up then.

Wallmart's price for 1QT of Mobile 1 is ~4.38, either alone, by the case, etc. But, for about 2yrs now (as far as I know) they've had these big 5QT jugs for ~$17.99. Actually, when I first started buying it, it was only $14.99. Unfortunately, they don't always have it- it seems to just show up every few months, and it usually takes about a month or so to restock, when it runs out- that's the way it is here, at the Walmart I go to anyway, so I always try to stock up on it whenever I can...
Also, there was a thread a month or two ago about synthetic oils and several people mentioned that their cars ran better on Redline, than on Mobile and several chimed in on the best places to buy it- I think one or two of them could order it in the $5/QT range, although I'm sure S&H would be a little high. I've never tried Redline, but would really like to, IF one of those people would answer this thread w/the "secret" places to buy it

I think you are right about the big containers at WalMart---I also remember seeing the 5 quart jugs but they haven't had them lately when I've been there. I was going to give up on shopping there but you've given me hope that it just may be a re-stocking situation. It definitely is the way to buy it--much cheaper than by the quart.

Yeah, I don't understand their stocking principles, but I was looking for it for a month or so, to no avail (and my personal stock was running low)- then, I saw some at a local Walmart, but they didn't have the 15W50- I looked around for a few minutes, and finally, found about 20 of them (in 5QT size) stacked in a random shopping cart- I've been back since, and keep finding them that way in that particular Wallmart. I might try and mail order some of the Redline now, just to try, if S&H from WA isn't too much- thanks Tom

They use 0w40 on the NEW porsches, my manual says 50 weight for summer.
