Over the past few weeks, I've had brake squeal getting progressively worse. Same symptoms described above. Especially bad at slow speeds (approaching a stop light, etc.). Well, I took it through a car wash (including the wheel wash option), and there is NO SQUEAL! Must have just been brake dust or something...

I'll add what worked for me....clean everything real good 1st with brake cleaner & a brush. Then apply a small amount of synthetic brake grease to the edges of the pads, piston contact surfaces on the backs of the pads, on the caliper sliding surfaces where the pads sit, and where the hold down spring pushes on the pads. Also check the rotor run-out as this can cause noise by vibrating the pads.
