Realistically, those HP and TQ numbers are already reachable with 2.8 and 3.0 litre engines from the 944s, s2, and 968. Maybe even with the 2.5 as well.

If you are just trying to find a way to fit that particular motor in, I'd say you probably could, but lots of mods and money like those mentioned above would be involved, plus you would probably end up with a car that would never handle right, with all that added weight in the front.

I agree with Outlaw952, why do it if you cna already achieve the same power or more with the engine you have in there now. Ive seen dyno charts of 2.8 liter motors putting out 500hp, Rage2's 2.5 liter makes 450rwhp. Im sure it can be done with a big enough pocket book, if i recall correctly someone did a 928 to 944 engine swap. They had to build a whole new front. It might be cool to see someone try to put the Cayenne engine into a 928.

I have not checked on the Cayenne but typically twin turbo involves two turbos of the same size, a biturbo has a smaller turbo for faster spool up and a bigger turbo for that top end power, they are placed in line vs twin turbos usually feed off each bank of the motor.

well of course the handling of a 944 is so important so i wouldn't want to screw that up. however, the 944 engine may only be 4 cylinders but it's pretty heavy. i'd have to see the numbers but i doubt that the supra twin turbo engine (which has the same 3 liter displacement as my s2) would be that much heavier. if i was to do that swap it would probably be a single turbo because the complexity and space required for twins would be too much.

as far as power numbers, i know 944 turbos can make plenty of power. the question is how much must be spent and how reliable are they with alot of power. i think its much easier to get a 2jz to say 400hp reliably (it would be my daily driver) than a rebuilt s2 engine. as far as cost goes i'm not even sure. i'd need to fabricate mounts for the supra and there would definately be some engineering involved. on the s2 side, the entire motor would have to be rebuilt and i've heard that turbo pistons are not cheap either.

course what i'd REALLY like would be to just throw in a 3 rotor 20b. i bet 15000rpm is pretty cool

Hmmmmm, biturbo sounds like a good idea. Anyone ever done this to a 944?

Ziominix, you asked for it (sorry ram_one). Look in the off-topic section for a post authored by AMAF, and you will discover a person who put twin-turbos in a 924. Of course, it is all BS, but it is ALMOST entertaining, nevertheless.
