Angry P9201 belt tensioner calibration

With the P9201 belt tensioner tool and the associated calibration bar, I'm trying to follow the directions in the manual to calibrate the tool and mostly getting frustrated.

Which is correct for taking a measurement: Pull the lock pin and press gently to increase tension just until the pin pops back in place? Or should I be pressing gently until the it stops moving and the pin is also in space. This minor variation in pressure can very my reading 0.5, placing the tool out of spec depending on how I use it.

Does anyone know exactly how to calibrate and use this tool?

thanks,

I would think that you'd do the same thing that's done when using it on the belts. That is, press it until the pin pops into place.

Thanks. My problem was that I followed the directions in the manual. They simply said to use a screwdriver, not allen wrench.
