Need Door Window Removal Procedure
I'm ready to install my new handles on my 89, but I need to remove the glass in the doors to remove the guard plate. I searched the manuals and can't find a procedure, just remove the window glass it what is says. It doesn't look that obvious to me so does anyone know how to do it correctly? Thanks,
Mike

I just did this a few weeks ago on my '91 S2. First remove all the weather stripping from around the bottom of the window. Then there should be two bolts off towards rear portion of the door. If you look closely there is a rail that it is holding on for one of the arms that moves the window up and down.
Once you take these bolts out, remove the rail and you can now take the window itself off. There are two small rails on the bottom of the window that fit little rollers that are on the end of those big metal arms I talked about earlier. They just slide off. Once you have both sides off just pull the window out at a slight angle so as to clear the top of the door.
Once you do this all that remains is taking out the window guide rail which has 2 bolts. One down at the bottom which is rather hard to get at and the other one hidden under the weather stripping at the rear bottom corner of where the window would be. Once you remove the guide rail you should be able to see the rest of the door locking mechanism.
Good Luck, if you have anymore questions feel free to ask.
