How do you roll down a power window manually?
My '83 944 has its windows rolled up. The door panels, and the window switches, are unattached.
Is there a way to roll down the windows manually? Anything I need to be careful of?
I've tried searching but have had no luck. If you know where I can find this information, please help!
Thanks,
Nick

you could techincaly do it by supplying power and ground directly to the connection going to the motor. But if your motor (regulator) is no good, you just cant do it.

You can look for an early 924 at a salvage yard and get the manual hardware for conversion or just fix your motor. Even if you pull the motor I'm not sure you have anything useful to access for manual cranking. Have you tested the motor yet?

Thanks for the ideas, guys. I should have added some info:
My windows work great when the door panels are on and the switches are attached.
I was just looking for a way to lower the window so when I have it out of the garage, and it's warm, I don't have to keep the doors and/or rear hatch open to keep the insides from sweltering. I'll reattach the door panels later this week, then, this point will become moot (at least for me).

Yikes... I also leave the wiper up, but I'll leave them down from now on.
My dumb moment was when I was working in the car, door open, key in ignition, buzzer buzzing. I slammed the door shut to make the buzzer shut up. And then the window shattered all over me.

LOL!
I only lol, because I have been driving around the pat few days with no door panel (since fixing the exterior door opener - just no time to figure out how to reattach the keylock lever...) and the pwr window switch hanging free.....

You could do it the redneck way , make an adapter to the window regulator with the motor out, and attach a drill to the regulator..probably more work than it;'s worth though. Just a thought.
