Very nice combo! You need to add a nice 928 now and you will have the whole line up!! Well, I guess you would need a Boxster and a Cayenne for that, but you could have the full 80's line up anyway! That would be pretty freaking cool!

You can get good 80's era 928's for pretty cheap money too if you watch carefully!

The two you have look GREAT though!

Looking to add a 924S or 944 to my collection as well!

I would would like to add a 928 at some point (a recent Ducati purchase will put that off for a while). Not much in the way of power, but still fun to drive. Very agile and peppy enough to make driving enjoyable. I guess I am stuck in the 80's. I was in high school then and drooled at just about any model I saw. I guess I still feel the same way...

I don't think there ever was side carpet on that console. I've tooken carpet off of a 924 parts car, and the carpet was stabled to the console. There must have been 12 stables. If there every was carpet on that center console, there'd be a bunch of little holes.

mine has carpet around the shifter, and it just lifts up, no staples, and no holes to indicate staples that i can see

If there was any carpet, I don't see any signs of it.

The shifter carpet isn't held on by staples, it does just lift up. But to take out the shifter carpet all the way, you have to take off the power sunroof switch, and if you have it, the sound fader switch. At least, that's how it is on mine.

Lol, I spelt staple wrong.

hmmm...interesting. I didn't realize that there was a no-carpet option. maybe it came with leather interiors?

On my car, the brown console had the carpet as does the black center console that I replaced it with. I'm starting to wonder if it would be possible to remove that carpet and wrap the console in leather or vinyl (also covering up some empty switch holes in the process).

Haha, i've allready been on that idea for about three months now. Here's some pictures of my progress. To cover the center console in leather or vinyl, it requires french seams. On the last picture, on the left side of the console, my stitches are straight, it just when I glued the cover down, I stretched the vinyl.

Sorry if i'm highjacking. Kinda on the moment thing.

'88 Hurricane 600... Wow, I remeber that bike (I had a FZR 600). Great stuff. I would do the 80's again as well. I remeber a kid that got a brand new 944 in high school... envy of the school.

Nice work Po924S! I would like to see the finished product.

Thanks. School's over next week, so I should get it done in the next month or so.

jtporsche- Nope. I want it to have the 924S version of the "928 full leather interior option", lol.

Thanks cegan09. Whoever the PO had paint the car did an excellent job. I actually have the receipt, it was someplace in PA. Nice depth to the color.
