a/c revisited
I finally got down and did a LITTLE to figure out my a/c problem. The PO told me not to push the a/c button because it blows the fuse and he wasn't sure why. I've since pushed it, and of course, the air doesn't work, but I'm not really sure the relay is actually blown. How could I go about testing it? I took it to Autozone and they told me to go to a shop. I don't want to do that.. a/c in general is going to cost more to fix than I'm willing to pay right now. Here's what the relay does:
Multimeter shows I get current between all the terminals. It's been too long since my physics class and I'm too tired to try to figure out the diagram, but I imagine if it's doing this than the relay is probably fine, n'est-ce pas?
Pushing the a/c button does create a little more load on the engine still. I reached under and turned the clutch wheel. I don't have room without a lift to check the ground, so I'll probably do that some time this week. I'm halfway considering just converting to RF-134a and recharging it to see if it works, but I'd rather not do that and then find out my compressor is bad and half to do it again. Advice?
