Post Does anyone have a good temp gauge for a 1986 951?

My temp gauge sticks in the upper ranges, I tap the dash (I don't like to do) and the gauge comes right back down. The car doesn't actually seem to run hot. I want to go with the Perry951 dash light upgrade, but I only want to take it apart once. I don't think it's a ground problem as I installed the Iceshark cable upgrade (the works). All my other gauges work fine. Does anyone have a temp gauge for sale? Thanks.

Arne.

The problem is why does your gauge go to the top of the scale were it sticks. Don't replace the gauge, fix the problem. Two causes come to mind, bad wiring/connectors or a bad sender.

BTW: Lots of very expensive analog meters will "stick" at full scale if they are over driven.

I guess that makes sense. The gauge actually fluctuates, then seems to bounce and stick, it only does it occasionally. I'll have to look in the manual to see where the sender is located, I'll check the connection there. The power cables to the starter were pretty corroded before I upgraded the cables, so far the rest of the wiring I've looked at seems to be in good shape.
