I got some pics of the pistons
#7
I looked at the PET parts catalog, didn't see that part# listed for any of the 924S/944/951/968 cars. I think these are the only cars that use 944- preixes on the part#. If someone thinks the 944- prefix is used on other cars, let me know, I'll try there.

BTW, the way the PET catalog is set up, it lists the pistons as a set. Meaning, piston, rings, pin, circlips. This may be the problem. The only # with 015 for the third set was for an 87-88 944S. You may try to track them down for the 944S. I think you may have the # for a set or piston only. I'm still tryin for you though.

Looks like the new # is 944-103-015-16. The car is an 88 944S, engine code is M44.40. Can anyone verify this? The way I read it, I went into pet, typed the given # in. It gave me a supercesion to afew others then coming to the final number above. I found this # for an 88 944S. It says, tolerance group 1, 100MM. Good luck

On each box it says 944.103.015.10. This is probably what you are talking about. It must be the number for a single piston, not the whole set of 4. Can you look it up by the number for 1 piston, or should there be another number on the box that is for the whle set?
Thanks

The # I said it supercedes to, was for a single piston set. Meaning; one piston, the rings, pin and c-clips for the pins. Do you have the piston and all the components, or just a bare piston? PET shows them as, all the components with each piston. ie, one equipped piston. You would need four of these sets for an engine.
